The ‘Right care, first time, where you live’ Research Program at the University of Sydney’s Brain and Mind Centre has had the great privilege of working with six passionate and dedicated communities in Australia to develop systems models of their youth mental health system.
Our research team would like to thank our primary healthcare network regional partners Office for Mental Health and Wellbeing, ACT Health, Healthy North Coast PHN, Brisbane South PHN, Western Sydney Primary Health Network, operated by WentWest, Nepean Blue Mountains PHN, Country to Coast Queensland PHN, Western Australia Primary Health Alliance.
We’d also like to thank their communities and the generous support of young people with lived experience of mental illness who have all made outstanding contributions to the Program. This process has enabled us to develop a clear picture of what the mental health system looks like for young people in these regions.
We hope that the tools we have developed will continue to be useful to these communities and provide insights into ongoing ways that the youth mental health system can be improved.
Young people are struggling and we believe innovative solutions like the systems modelling tools that we have developed with these communities will help improve the youth mental health system in their regions.
